BRAZIL: The OIAD takes part in the 3rd International Forum of the AJUFIDH in São Paulo

From 7 to 11 April 2025, the International Observatory for Lawyers in Danger will be taking part in the 3rd International Forum of the Association of Lawyers, Judges and Human Rights Prosecutors of Latin America and the Caribbean (AJUFIDH), in São Paulo, Brazil.

The event will gather more than 70 legal professionals from across South and Central America, and aims to strengthen the defence of human rights, promote the rule of law and improve the administration of justice. The forum will feature closed and open sessions, including a public event on 10 April that will welcome students, researchers, civil society organisations and government authorities.

See the programme for more details.

The Observatory was invited to participate in the Forum and will be represented by Board member Alfredo Irujo, following the AJUFIDH’s recent associate membership to the OIAD. This participation is a key opportunity for the visibility of the Observatory’s activity, the strengthening of regional alliances, the identification of new cases and the exploration of potential collaborations with various associations and entities.

The OIAD’s presence at this forum reasserts its commitment to the protection of endangered lawyers and the promotion of fundamental rights in South America, Central America and the Caribbean.
